    Lea Vares Greenwood is an accomplished nonprofit executive with more than 30 years of experience leading organizations and initiatives focused on community development, social justice, and poverty reduction.

    As Executive Director of the Community Development Council of Quinte, Lea provides strategic leadership to programs addressing food insecurity and improving quality of life across Hastings and Prince Edward Counties. Her work is grounded in a strong commitment to building inclusive, resilient communities where everyone has access to nutritious food and essential supports.

    Throughout her career, Lea has held senior leadership roles across the nonprofit sector, including executive director positions and consulting work with charities focused on homelessness, mental health, and community services. She has also contributed to specialized initiatives such as public awareness campaigns and trauma-informed support for individuals affected by complex social challenges.

    Lea holds a degree in social work and brings a multidisciplinary approach to leadership, combining governance, fundraising, and program development expertise with a deep understanding of community needs. Multilingual in English, French, and Estonian, she is recognized for her collaborative leadership style and dedication to meaningful social impact.

  • Communications & Outreach Manager

    Sabrina Seccareccia is our Manager of Communications & Outreach, where she leads strategic initiatives that strengthen community engagement, expand partnerships, and enhance access to vital programs across the region. Drawing on more than a decade of experience in marketing, communications, and cross‑sector collaboration, Sabrina brings a thoughtful, data‑driven approach to building awareness and support for CDCQ’s mission.

    Sabrina oversees the development of social media, communications, and brand strategies that elevate the organization’s visibility and deepen donor and volunteer engagement. She manages the growth of the corporate volunteer program, represents CDCQ at community events and Chamber of Commerce meetings, and leads outreach efforts that foster meaningful partnerships with local businesses, nonprofits, and stakeholders. Sabrina also guides program expansion planning to ensure services meet the evolving needs of diverse demographics across the Quinte region.

    With a strong background in strategic planning, digital communications, and community-focused initiatives, Sabrina is committed to amplifying the impact of CDCQ’s programs, by improving operational efficiency, enhancing user experience, and creating accessible, compelling outreach materials.

    Sabrina holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Marketing Management from Sheridan College and a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Governance from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). She is passionate about building connected, resilient communities and supporting initiatives that help individuals and families thrive.

  • Good Baby Box Coordinator

    Bev Heuving is a dedicated nonprofit professional with over a decade of experience supporting families, children, and communities across Eastern Ontario. Based in Belleville, she brings a strong background in program coordination, social services, and community-based initiatives that improve quality of life for vulnerable populations.

    Bev currently serves as Program Coordinator for the Good Baby Box and Volunteer Intake, roles she has held since 2011. In this capacity, she has played a key role in delivering essential programs such as the Good Baby Box, helping ensure families have access to critical items like diapers, wipes, and infant supplies. Her work focuses on strengthening early childhood supports and expanding access to services across Hastings and Prince Edward Counties.

    Known for her hands-on approach and community-first mindset, Bev has been instrumental in growing program reach by establishing new service depots and improving accessibility for families in need. Her commitment to practical, compassionate support reflects a deep understanding of the challenges faced by parents and caregivers in the region.

    Bev holds a Social Service Worker diploma from Loyalist College, equipping her with the skills and knowledge to deliver impactful, client-centered programs. She is recognized for her collaborative style, operational expertise, and unwavering dedication to strengthening communities through accessible, meaningful supports.

  • Good Food Box and Good Gardens Coordinator

    Maranda Jenkins is the GFB and Good Gardens Coordinator at CDCQ, bringing a strong foundation in client support, community engagement, and service delivery.

    A graduate of the Social Service Worker program at Loyalist College, Maranda first joined CDCQ as a student intern, where she spent eight months gaining hands-on experience supporting programs and working directly with community members. During this time, she demonstrated a strong commitment to compassionate service, effective communication, and teamwork.

    Prior to her current role, Maranda developed valuable experience in customer service and client relations, where she built strengths in problem-solving, confidentiality, and managing diverse client needs. Her background also includes roles in hospitality and food service, where she consistently maintained high standards of care and efficiency.

    Maranda’s professional approach is grounded in empathy, patience, and a dedication to supporting individuals with dignity. She is passionate about building meaningful connections and helping ensure that community members have access to the resources they need.
